Fire Island Virgins (FIV) are a (fake) karaoke popstar band. They are real people, who performed real karaoke together ... it's just that they are popstars only in their own minds. Click the thumbnails to see screenshots, or take a look at the website (no longer active).
The idea for FIV came about during a rainy day trip to Fire Island - the first time there for all of us. We wanted to swim and were told by the lifeguards huddled on the beach under a tarp to "stay upwind in case you get caught in a sweeper." While waiting for the rain to die down, we sang, and the rest is history ...
